As part of LLAWN05, the annual, multi-disciplinary art festival in Llandudno, MOSTYN commissioned Nicola Dale a site-specific performance. "The Act of Reading" presents Dale recreating poses derived from historical depictions of women reading, a powerful reminder that the history of MOSTYN is embedded with women's position in society and their empowerment reaching back from Victorian times, when the gallery was first built and opened to show female artists' work.
