"I am an artist/printmaker based in Sheffield, UK. I discovered printmaking in 2003 after my mother-in-law lent me some lino, tools and inks. I was instantly gripped. There was (and still is) something about the unpredictability of the medium, working within certain limitations and the physical process that enthrall me. Fifteen years later and I'm still gripped by it, and a large body of this work has been images featuring donkeys.
Details of Exhibition
The first donkey-print I produced was Donkeys Disturbed By A Meteor Shower in 2008. I can't say exactly what drew me to specifically create that image, but it opened up a whole new avenue for expression. I felt compelled to celebrate donkeys (who I don't consider are represented very well in the history of art, or sometimes appreciated generally) and create these compositions showing them having adventures in a mysterious world, free from any human control or servitude.
For the exhibition I have created a new version of Donkeys Disturbed to celebrate 10 years of my donkey prints".
