MOSTYN | Biscuit Tin Photo Archive [institutional leadership]

MOSTYN | Biscuit Tin Photo Archive [institutional leadership]

18 Jan 2014 – 6 Apr 2014
As part of an ambitious community engagement project accompanying the exhibition by Tom Wood, MOSTYN is inviting local people to contribute their own photographs of rural life for inclusion in this major exhibition. The project, called the 'Biscuit Tin Photo Archive' stems from Tom Wood's interest in the personal and precious images which may be tucked away in a box or tin, and which may often form a family archive spanning decades.

Details of Exhibition

Wood, who currently lives in North Wales and lectures at Coleg Llandrillo in Rhos-on-Sea, is well known for his photographs of the people of Liverpool and Merseyside, and has exhibited worldwide. This new exhibition 'Landscapes' however shows previously unseen images from over forty years of work responding to his surroundings in North Wales, Merseyside and the West of Ireland. The exhibition includes wild and remote landscapes, fragments of family photographs and video, and affectionate portraits of both rural, and more urban, day-to-day life.

MOSTYN  is keen to hear from individuals or groups who would like to be involved in this unique opportunity. All photographs will be scanned and printed so that owners can retain the precious originals, and  MOSTYN  staff can arrange scanning sessions at venues other than the gallery.
