Dr Frances Liddell

Frances Liddell is a researcher, writer, advisor, and lecturer working at the intersection of museum practice and web3 technologies. Her PhD research was one of the first pieces of empirical research done on museum theory and NFTs. In partnership with National Museums Liverpool, it explored how this technology might challenge our understanding of ownership, authority, authenticity, and social value. Her current research focuses primarily on the themes of value, shared guardianship, and psychological ownership.

Frances is currently a part-time lecturer at University of Manchester teaching Arts Management and Business Strategies. In addition, she is a research fellow at the Arts & Antiquities Blockchain Consortium. She also works on a part-time basis with Iconic Moments, a web3 platform dedicated to cultural and heritage institutions.

Diane Drubay

Diane Drubay has been working towards the transformation of museums and the arts internationally since 2007 through various community building, international conferences on the future of museums and change programs.

Founder of We Are Museums, a community-powered think-tank on the future of museums which are good for people and the Planet, Diane is also a visual artist nudging for nature awareness and better futures.

Her artistic practice, and life, shifted in March 2021 when she started minting on hic et nunc (NFT marketplace on the Tezos blockchain). The low financial threshold, thanks to the proof-of-stake mechanism, or social, thanks to the values of openness and sustainability of the community, provided a space for piloting new models. A few months after, she co-founded the NFT artist-led gallery alterHEN to experiment with a new cultural economy and form of artistic distribution.

She is now Head of Arts and Culture at TZ Connect, the Tezos hub in Berlin, where she facilitates collaboration and leads strategy around web3 future prototyping across arts and culture.
