The third edition of Inloco Talks explores how artistic practice transforms urban space, focusing on what happens when art moves beyond institutions into public and communal environments. Through conversations with art specialists, curators, and urbanists, the program examines the frameworks, challenges, and possibilities of public art - from festivals and biennales to spontaneous interventions - and how these practices shape the aesthetics, narratives, and social life of contemporary cities.

Panelists: Dr. Alfredo Cramerotti, Laila Binbek, Moath Alofi, Dunja Gottweis. Moderated by Sanaz Askari.

The talk, moderated by Sanaz Askari, centred on the following points:

1. You’ve curated across formats that vanish quickly—from light festivals, media works, and national pavilions. What does ephemerality make possible aesthetically or conceptually that permanence cannot? And how do audiences process meaning when the artwork’s lifespan, and even the memory of it, is deliberately fleeting?

2. Much of your work engages with media and perception in an era defined by acceleration.

3. Our time is marked by “the atomisation of time into micro-units that create the Extreme Present" (Basar). In large-scale, time-based art events, how do you think this extreme present shapes the aesthetic experience, especially when attention, distraction, and digital saturation mean that many of these encounters, and their memories, can slip almost instantly into a kind of digital abyss?

4. Media theory often suggests that what disappears can be as influential as what persists. Within large-scale, time-limited art events, how do you see ephemerality functioning as a form of authorship, or even as a strategy, in shaping long-term cultural meaning?
