Since 2017, Kaunas Biennial (Lithuania), together with 14 other European cultural organisations, is implementing the "MagiC Carpets" project, which is intended for emerging curators and artists to work in a socially engaged and responsible art field (visual art, public art, community art, exhibitions, performances, documentary theatre, online art, etc.) to research and implement new productions together with local artists and local communities. The project is based on the sharing of experience and knowledge, and addressing such important topics as displacement, social uncertainty and need for inclusiveness of cultural offer, growing nationalism and populism, and how culture can contribute to intercultural dialogue.
