CIMAM– International Committee for Museums and Collections of Modern Art presents Art & Advanced Technologies (AxAT) in museums programming: an overview of possible paths and possibilities, webinar on Thursday 27 April 2023 at 12:00 pm CEST.

This webcast offers a focus on technologies such as NFT/crypto and museums beyond monetary speculation and fundraising i.e. the role of NFTs in cultural institutions and the implications and impact on museum practices, offering new points of view from museums, researchers, and artists. As a recent Jing Culture & Crypto newsletter put it: "The 'crypto bro' culture, represented by overhyped drops and questionable credibility, no longer attracts investors. Instead, renowned cultural institutions will take the lead in unveiling new NFT drops and even creating purpose-built blockchains to restore trust."  The webinar presents a few potential scenarios about how this may happen:  engagement, storytelling, mass participation, new audience demographics, measurable outputs.
